The current exhibition called “Jáchymov in the Mirror of Time” is installed in a total of 15 halls on 2 floors and it is located in the Renaissance building of the former Royal Mint from 1536. You will learn about geology and mineralogy of Krušné hory (Ore Mountains), archaeological findings from the Royal Mint, ore mining in the 16th century, numismatics and minting. A large-sized moving model of the Ore Mountain mining works in the 16th century forms an attraction of the museum as well. The visitors can also see the display mapping the work camps in the Jáchymov region after 1948. The museum is dedicated to the memory of the important naturalist Georgius Agricola (1494-1555), whose life and work are closely connected with Jáchymov.
The exposition has no wheelchair access.
