Chyše Chateau
Category: Chateaus Region: Toužim and its surroundings Town: Žlutice
The Neo Gothic chateau in Chyše offers two attractive excursion routes to its visitors. The extensive chateau cellarage entwined with many interesting tales and the adjoining park or the chateau brewery are also worth visiting.
You may explore the chateau thanks to two excursion routes.
- The first route will take you through the artistically and architectonically valuable interiors, which include the chateau hall with ceiling paintings by Petr Brandl.
- The halls and rooms are mostly furnished with Baroque movables. The second route is dedicated to the stay of Czech writer Karel Čapek. The main part of the exposition presents all the materials associated with Karel Čapek who was hired as a private tutor by the family of Count Vladimír Lažanský and stayed at Chyše Chateau from May to September 1917.
We recommend visiting the family brewery on the chateau grounds.
