Only modest ruins remain of the Gothic Himlštejn Castle (German: Himmelstein, English: Heavenly Rock), which was built in the 15th century. It is located at a truly magical place known as “Nebeská skála” (Heavenly Rock), just 1 kilometre from the small town of Stráž nad Ohří. Only the remnants of two castle gates with a cylindrical tower and some parts of the castle walls are still standing today.
The castle ruins are freely accessible and are a popular destination of hikers. You may easily reach the ruins on foot by following the green-marked tourist path from Stráž nad Ohří.
