Jelení vrch Nature Park

Category: Points of Interest Region: Krušné hory – Ore Mountains Town: Přebuz

It is one of the most valuable peat bogs in Krušné hory (Ore Mountains), not only with regard to the wealth of the plant and animal species but for the overall condition and samples of all developmental stages of a raised drainage divide peat bog as well.

A majority of the area of the Jelení Nature Park is covered by forests formed mostly by the European spruce. The rest of the park consists of unused pastures. Several protected plant species appear here, e.g. the critically endangered Polygala serpyllifolia, the carnivore common sundew, the endangered species of a mountain orchid – common spotted-orchid, or the wolf's bane. As to animals, the rare owls of Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) spruce forests, the Eurasian pygmy owl and Boreal Owl, nest here.
