Category: Lookout and Observation Towers Region: Karlovy Vary and its surroundings Town: Karlovy Vary

One of the four lookout towers located in the immediate environs of Karlovy Vary is the Lookout of Charles IV. It was built in 1877 and it is situated on Hamerský vrch (Hamerský Hill) at an elevation of 514 metres above sea level between Grandhotel Pupp and the Art Gallery. It is a 15-metre high replica of a pseudo-Gothic lookout tower standing in Schleswig in northern Germany. The lookout underwent an overall reconstruction in 2001 to allow it to once again serve the inhabitants and visitors of Karlovy Vary.
