Žlutice Museum
Category: Museums Region: Toužim and its surroundings Town: Žlutice
The Municipal Museum of Žlutice was established in 1910. It used to offer collections relating to the town’s history to its visitors. In 1953, it took over the collections from the municipal museum in Bochov. In 1971, the museum staff installed an exhibition dedicated to the Hussite Movement. The Žlutice Museum became a branch of the Karlovy Vary Museum in 1973. In 1992, the exhibition was extended by the town’s history display. A town prison with an exhibition dedicated to capital punishment forms a part of the museum tour along with a part of the medieval basements under the building.
