Region: Krušné hory – Ore Mountains

Abertamy is a small town in Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) founded in the 16th century. The history of the town is closely linked to silver mining. Later, tin was also mined in its surroundings. In the 19th century, the town became famous for the making of goatskin gloves and goat cheese, which has been made here in organic quality ever since.

The present-day town of Abertamy is a popular destination of tourists to whom it offers a large variety of accommodation facilities. You may find a downhill skiing course, a connection to the Ore Mountain cross-country skiing trails, as well as cycle paths. The local Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers was founded in 1534.
