Horní Blatná
Region: Krušné hory – Ore Mountains
Like most other neighbouring towns and villages, Horní Blatná was founded in connection with the boom of iron ore and tin mining in its surroundings in the 16th century. In addition to mines, a number of Renaissance buildings were built that are considered to be one of the best-preserved Renaissance complexes and are protected as an urban monument reserve.
While visiting Horní Blatná, you may explore 3 nature trails. You may start with Božídarské rašeliniště (Boží Dar Peat Bog), continue along Blatenský příkop (Blatná Ditch) and then follow the path from Horní Blatná to Vlčí jámy (Wolf Hollows), which includes a visit to the Horní Blatná Museum.
