Region: Mariánské Lázně and its surroundings

The town of Teplá (literally meaning "Warm") was founded in the 12th century. At the same time, the Premonstratensian Monastery, belonging among the most significant monasterial complexes in the country, was established in its vicinity. Inside the monasterial complex, you may visit a museum dedicated to the so-called 3rd (anti-communist) resistance, the magnificent abbey library or the abbey park. The abbey park is adjoined by the 9-hole Golf Club Klášter Teplá golf course. In the centre of the town, you may admire the Church of Saint Giles or the Town Hall.

The monastery is on the route of the David nature trail, which you may follow on foot or on a bike. In addition, you may also walk up the pilgrimage path to the pilgrimage church in Skoky. It is a one-way route and it leads from Teplá to Žlutice. The straight route is 66 km long (73.5 km with detours).
